We got rid of the duvet cover.
Pleene makes bedding for people who would rather sleep than fight with laundry. One piece, into the machine, back on the bed. That's the whole idea — and most of what we do is refusing to complicate it.
The chore nobody redesigned
The duvet cover has barely changed in a hundred years. You climb inside it, shake, swear a bit, and hope the corners land right. Then you wash the cover — and the duvet inside it goes back on the bed unwashed, as it has for years.
That was the part that bothered us. Not the wrestling, though that's annoying enough. The fact that the thing you actually sleep under almost never gets cleaned, because cleaning it is such an ordeal that most people quietly skip it.
So we built the duvet and the cover as one piece. Wash the whole thing at 40°C in a normal machine, tumble-dry it on low, put it back. Bedding you can keep fresh as easily as a fitted sheet.
